Queen Charlotte Islands - Fishing Safety

At Naden Lodge your safety is our highest priority. Our lodge is fully compliant with all commercial rules and regulations applicable to guided salt water fishing charters. These rules and regulations require each of our guides to have the following four certifications: Small Vessel Operators Proficiency (SVOP), Basic Marine First Aid, Restricted Operators Certificate Marine (ROCM), and Marine Emergency Duties (MED A3). In addition, each of our boats is registered in the Transport Canada Blue Decal program which ensures that we meet certain regulatory requirements for equipment standards and safety. But, as is typical of our lodge, we have gone above and beyond the requirements and implemented additional safety features such as Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) on all of our boats. When you are out on the water and an hour away from the nearest hospital, you need to be prepared to handle any emergency that may arise. We encourage you to read the safety briefing information contained in the links below prior to the start of your trip.
